Congratulations to our students and staff on the first successful Kindness Week!

 

The week of February 26 to March 2, 2018 was dedicated to celebrating and showing acts of kindness at NHS, taking a moment to recognize the importance of being kind to one another.

 

Different student organizations contributed ideas and activities for students at NHS to take part in, including writing inspirational quotations on donated rocks (to be placed around the Newington elementary schools) and posting sticky notes around the school for others to find.  The students of NHS participated by wearing coordinated colors and outfits. Many students gave compliments, invited others to sit with them, and went out of their way to show kindness.

 

The actions from this week have shown that kindness is important and makes the school a better, more welcoming, and supportive place. The hope is that students will take kindness from this week and continue to carry it forward in their daily lives.
